Royal Wedding Gifts from around Worcestershire

We've pulled together the Worcestershire gifts we'd give the happy couple on May 19th!

Salt from droitwich

In September 2017, after almost a century, salt was produced from Droitwich brine springs.  Droitwich Salt is now on sale and we think it's a great gift to give the royal couple to represent Worcestershire.  The Droitwich Salt company say 'Droitwich Salt is believed to be the purest salt available as it has never been subject to any form of pollution and is therefore inherently 100% natural.'

Wychbold Fudge, a small, family business that makes a variety of flavoured fudges were commissioned to use the Droitwich Salt and create Droitwich Salted Fudge. In honour of the royal wedding, Wychbold Fudge has especially designed some salted vanilla fudge for the happy couple.

Brintons Carpet from Kidderminster

Brintons, founded in Kidderminster has a Royal Warrant, a prominent appointment given to companies that provide goods or services regularly to The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales. So a Brintons carpet is the perfect gift to give to Harry and Meghan for their marital home.

Needles and a needle case from Redditch

Needle making in Redditch began in the 17th Century,  Henry Milward & Sons Ltd being one of the biggest companies. By the end of the 19th century, the company had the largest factory in England for the production of needles - receiving world wild acclaim.

Gloves from Worcester

In the late 18th century, glove making was Worcester's largest industry. Between 1790 and 1820, there were 150 glove manufacturers employing more than 30,000 people in the city.

Milore was one of those most prominent glove makers, and we think a pair of Milore gloves would make the perfect gift for the happy couple, to signify Worcester as a city.

Asparagus from Evesham

More asparagus is grown in Worcestershire than anywhere else in the UK and Evesham in particular is famous for its perfect crop. For the last ten years, tthe British Asparagus Festival has taken place in Evesham to celebrate the growing and harvesting of the delicacy. As May is prime time for Vale of Evesham Asparagus, we'd gift it to Harry and Meghan, or maybe even suggest they use it as part of their wedding breakfast!

Plums from pershore

Worcestershire is also famous for its variety of plums that are grown here. Pershore is notorious for its selection of plums including 'Pershore Yellow' 'Purple Pershore' and 'Pershore Emblem'. A basket full of Pershore's finest plums would go down well in the new Royal household.

Morgan Motors from Malvern

Morgan Motors has been developing cars in Malvern, Worcestershire for more than 100 years. The cars are famous over the world for being typically British and are certainly fit for a royal!
