In May a friend who was holidaying and myself visited Hutovo Blato National Park. The following day a visit to the Natural History Museum at Metkovic, followed by a drive around areas in the Neretva river delta.
I think it fair to say that we both found navigation signs at the park a bit misleading and found it difficult to find our exact location within the park. We parked at the car park and were immediately greeted with the song of the Melodious Warbler and both thought what a good start. So with no plan in mind we wondered aimlessly being driven by sights and sounds. There were no obvious paths and one area we chose to walk on slightly higher ground giving us good views all around the grass was in excess of one metre high. That said I think we probably spent some three to four hours on the site.
