In The Mix review: A simple, savvy yet surprisingly good new chat show on E4.

Before watching In The Mix, I expected the new E4 show to be a some what cringe, with new on screen presenters and a variety of different segments.

However the creative content was a good combination of factual and witty, with informative news taking a lighter tone appealing to the target audience.

Billed as a cross between This Morning and Graham Norton, they really hit the nail on the head, with the first episode including cocktails, festivals, make up and more.

New to the screen presenters Luissa Huggins and Tian Bunyan took a very professional approach, both bouncing off each other and creating a very engaging show for the viewers. Tian's one-liners could have easily become cheesy, and naff however they kept the banter flowing between the two presenters.

The show started with a "What’s in the news today?" segment, which looked into celeb gossip, new music and film coverage which led nicely onto the next segment of festivals.

The topic of festivals was offering alternatives to Glastonbury, as it is not happening this year. I thought this particular part was well researched and would have targeted the audience perfectly.

A well thought out cocktail segment offered the viewers an alternative yet informative feature on cocktails to look out for this summer, but also what to avoid. With a specialist cocktail bar tender showcasing his skills and mixing up a few cocktails for the presenters to try, this fun and vibrant section fitted well in the show.

The show went on and covered a variety of different topics, with constant updates from the social media hub, a nice element, which allowed the viewers to get involved in the show.

The show ended with a Live performance from an up and coming Indie music artist, a nice final touch.

In The Mix airs weekdays at 9:00pm on E4.
