In Tangquan, a small town outside Nanjing, local farmer's fields have
been replaced by luxury villas.
While people were relatively well compensated, they have lost their livelihoods and now rely on government subsidies with higher living expenses.
Most of the luxury villas are bought as investments and lie empty, some of the old residents are growing food in nearby fields to cut down on living expenses.
