Pubs and Cafés on the Sunderland Leg of the C2C Route

Since the route first opened in 1994, hundreds of people have been passing through our region to complete the Coast to Coast cycle route. The route typically starts in Whitehaven and ends in Sunderland. However, there are a few variant routes, including a starting point at Workington and a finish at Tynemouth. You can take part in this well-known cycle route any time of year, but it is probably best to check the weather beforehand. Along with that there is a lot more planning to do before you set off, including route planning, how many days it will take, where you will have a break on the way, and even where you will be stopping over-night.

This famous route is completed by many people who are not familiar with the Wearside area, and if you have taken part in the Whitehaven to Sunderland route, which is 135 miles or 217KM. Hopefully this interactive map below can help you make a decision where to stop off on the final leg of the Coast to Coast route, for a well-deserved meal and a pint.
