Ursula Burns
International Woman of the Week
Born 20th September 1958.
Graduated from New York University in 1980 with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
In 1981, graduated from Columbia University with an MS in Mechanical Engineering.
Began at Xerox as a summer intern, before working permanently as a product developer.
In 1990, became executive assistant to Wayland Hicks a senior executive.
Nine years later was promoted to Vice President of Global Manufacturing.
Burns began working closely on strategics with Anne Mulcahy in 2001.
Made President of Xerox in 2007.
In July 2009, Burns became CEO. Xerox became the first Fortune 500 company to have succeeding female CEO's.
In the same year Burns was appointed by Barack Obama to lead the White House on STEM.
