Victoria Park Health Centre, Leicester

From Grade II to brand new

The Freemans Common Health Centre team were previously practising from a Grade II listed building which was cramped and offered no room for expansion. With an expanding patient list size of over 20,000 patients including students from the nearby University of Leicester, more space was desperately needed.

A site adjacent to the university was acquired and work soon began on the state of the art health centre.

It's all about design! The health centre is sensitively designed to blend in with the adjacent parkland and features timber cladding to the external walls and a biodiverse roof sown with wildflowers and grasses.

The construction works were all caught on film by Leicester University Space Research Centre:

"We are delighted with the new surgery building, it is the realisation of many years work. It will be wonderful to work from premises that are fit for purpose, and I look forward to seeing the response from our patients."
