Working together to save lives
The UK's International Development Secretary Priti Patel visited Montreal last weekend to attend The Global Fund's 5th Replenishment event. There she announced the UK would invest £1.1 billion over the next three years to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Britain's double-decker buses are known around the world, and now they are taking to Canadian roads! UK Communities and Local Government Secretary Sajid Javid (2nd from the left) got an up-close look at one of GoTransit's new double-decker buses during his visit to Toronto on Thursday. They are partially built in the GTA by UK-based Alexander Dennis. Just one of many British companies growing their business in Canada.

UK's Northern Powerhouse Minister Andrew Percy was in Vancouver this week where he spoke with CBC's Early Edition about how the UK is open for business.
Remembering 'The Few'
On Sunday in Ottawa a ceremony was held to mark the 76th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The UK was represented by Royal Air Force Wing Commander Simon Hulme who joined the crowd in remembering the airmen who sacrificed their lives to defend Britain from the Nazis during the Second World War.
London is calling Canadian investment
This week Export Development Canada announced it is setting up an office in London. We will leave it to them to explain why:

Big City Cooperation
London's Mayor Sadiq Khan also visited Montreal this week for his first official visit to North America. He made the most of his time in Canada's second largest city by meeting with Montreal's Mayor, taking part in a panel discussion with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and promoting London to Canadian business.
