5. Jeremy Kyle visits 'Tent City'

One of the most controversial moments Queen'sGardens has ever witnessed came in November 2016 when Jeremy Kyle arrived at the Tent City protests. The TV presenter was confronted with a barrage of abuse in the Rose Bowl outside the BBC building whilst filming for a new series. 

4. Freedom Festival 2016

Hull's annual festival returned in 2016, with Queen's Gardens hosting some of the cities biggest events.

3. Sea of Hull

July 2016 saw the city painted blue, with American nudist photographer Spencer Tunick creating a 'human art' exhibition celebrating the cities relationship with the sea. 

The Queen's Gardens was one of many locations used for the exhibition around the city.

2. Place Des Anges

July saw the spectacular ariel Place Des Anges show come to the city, with approximately 15,000 people descending on the Queen's Gardens to witness the show.

1. Hull FC 2016 Challenge Cup Homecoming

In August, 23,000 Hull FC fans gathered in the Queen's gardens to celebrate the 2016 Challenge Cup victory.
