PGA Training Programme -
University of Birmingham & University of the Highlands and Islands
The PGA training programme is a dynamic and exciting course designed exclusively to meet the needs of the golf industry and PGA Professionals.
Now incorporating a Foundation Degree in Professional Golf Studies awarded by the University of Birmingham, and the recently launched Diploma in Higher Education in Professional Golf in partnership with the University of the Highlands and Islands, the programme is based around various modules relevant to a career in golf.
It mixes theory and practice and is assessed by assignments and examinations. Assistants work for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a golf environment employed by a recognised PGA Professional, and study via online distance learning.
In each of the years of study, and in addition to the assignments and exams, assistants attend a one-week residential course at the National Training Academy at The Belfry.

AGMS degree – University of Birmingham
This world-leading golf programme gives students the chance to combine a high-level applied theoretical degree with membership of the PGA.
Based at the University of Birmingham's elite School of Sport, the course features a range of content modules, including everything from applied sports science and equipment technology to coaching theory and business management.
During the three-year course, learning will take place in a range of different settings, including at the university's specialist facilities and the PGA National Training Academy based at The Belfry.

PGA & the University of the Highlands and Islands
Home to some of the UK's best golf facilities, Scotland is an incredible place start your career.
The University of the Highlands and Islands BA honours degree in Professional Golf is a four year, full time, BA honours degree. The degree, unique in Scotland, is part of a partnership between the university and the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA).
Based in Dornoch, close to the world-renowned Royal Dornoch Golf Club, the BA (Hons) Professional Golf is aimed at those aspiring to a career in the golf industry and offers the opportunity to work in various roles, with a particular focus on coaching and performance.
This degree is recognised by the PGA and graduates gain membership of the PGA (subject to application).
