The third episode of Buzz17 looked at a new Netflix series called 13 reasons why, writes Micah Abbey.
The show centres around Clay Jensen who is a shy high school student who returns home from school to find a mysterious package, which contains seven double sided cassette tapes used by Hannah Baker a classmate that recent took her own life. Each of the tapes contains graphic details on why she committed suicide.
The series was used by Buzz17 to spark a serious conversation about depression in young people and the importance of mental health and seek professional help when needed.
Depression in young people is at an all time high. Researchers have said there is growing number of young people who are going under-treated or not treated at all for their symptoms of depression.
