Pepsi was forced to pull advert after backlash

The first official episode of Buzz17, looks at the Pepsi advertisement that was pulled down from air by Pepsi after backlash on Twitter, writes Micah Abbey.

The advertisement featured model Kendall Jenner handing a can of Pepsi to a police officers during protest who drinks the can as the crowd of protesters cheer.

Viewers of the advert felt that Pepsi video undermined the Black Lives Matter movement.

Critics expressed that they felt the advert made police resistance and police brutality seem less important than it is. Pepsi however defended the Live For Now Campaign starring Kendall Jenner. They augured the campaign is  a spirit of harmony and reflects people from all works of life.

During the Podcast Buzz17 we discussed the backlash Pepsi received from critics and share our opinion on the controversial advert.  

 

Some of the criticism was people feeling the advert suggested that if protestors were kinder to the police they would both get along much better.
