Jo's Hike4Rhinos Journey

200 Miles to go!

Significantly 22 September marks "World Rhino Day"– a day which will further encourage Jo to complete this epic hike.

This journey has seen her traverse the Scenic Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from the Mexican to the Canadian border - a distance of approximately 2600miles (4260kms).

Jo started her journey on 27 April 2017 prompted by an overwhelming need to try and help conserve this threatened species.

Sadly, in just a decade, more than 7, 137 African rhinos have been lost to poaching. In South Africa alone 1, 054 rhinos were killed during 2016.

With 2 weeks to go, Jo has just over 200 miles to complete (14 September at mile 2448 of the 2658 total), and is presently in the Cascade Mountains.

As she now nears the end of her incredible yet daunting and arduous journey, we celebrate Jo and her efforts in helping raise awareness on the plight of the rhino.

Without collaborative interventions and collective efforts, these defenceless animals will continue to be killed for their horn by criminal syndicates.

As part of her quest, she is helping to raise funds to assist with anti- poaching training and in caring for orphaned rhinos to allow these animals to continue to survive despite all the odds.

All monies raised and donated will go directly to two specified beneficiaries; the Southern African Wildlife College (SAWC) and the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC).
