YOU ARE ON THE RUNWAY
During the Routes for All RUNWAY programme, you will spread your wings and travel towards the destination you have chosen after you leave school. To apply to college, you need to consider the following:
You will have to choose the right course – one which will take you to the right career. Remember, focus on what you enjoy doing and things you are good at.
You need to be really positive about presenting your skills, personal qualities and experiences – work, volunteering, sport or artistic achievements and other factors which make you stand out from the crowd.
You will have to write a Personal Statement, which is a short essay of around 300 words which states why you are interested in the course, what experiences, skills and personality you have.
You will have to submit your application early. Most colleges open for applications at the end of January each year, and do not have a deadline. You must be at the front of the queue, so apply early!
