It's A Sad Goodbye From Toys R Us.

Within a week all UK Toys R Us stores will cease to exist.

It was announced by the directors at Toys R Us and the accompanying administration company 'Moorfield's' on the 28th of February 2018 that the mega toy company had gone into administration, and have had to start the dreaded process of closing down the UK toy company.

Currently all the remaining stores in the UK have huge reductions of up to 90% - and. confirming that every time in store is reduced!

There are three Toys R Us stores located in the North East, with each of these stores having its own official closing date set by the Moorfield’s administrative board.

The last days of trading for the North-East stores are as follows:

Sunderland Outlet Store – Wednesday 18th April.

Teesside Retail Park - Friday 20th April.

Metro Centre Store - Saturday 21st April.

The MetroCentre Super Store looking emptier day by day.

So, make sure you get yourself down to your local store soon before everything is gone and wave good bye to a company that has been a part of all our childhoods.

Toys R Us has been a part of every UK childhood for the past 34 years – watching my shop diminish before my very eyes is very hard to watch, after an amazing 16 years with the company." – Peter Bradford, Sunderland Store Manager.
Teesside Retail Park coming to an end.

Chantelle Alton a member of staff at the Metro Centre Mega Store said, "I feel broken. Toys R Us is all I know, it is the one and only place I have ever worked and I cannot believe that this is happening... coming into work each day to see less and less stock and our shop shrinking in size by the hour is horrendous."

For many families Toys R Us was the one stop Christmas and Birthday present stop being able to cater for everyone's needs and having the latest must have toys to hand. But the debts owed across the company globally are just too high to operate worldwide anymore and put a major strain on the UK sector.

There is currently $5billion owed worldwide and the UK company had a £20million VAT bill due just before they announced that the administration process had begun.

All Toys R Us stores to completely close April 24th. I will never forgive you all. My child which isn't in this world yet has already missed out on something special. Smh.

Teesside Park Store Supervisor Adam Buckton shared what he thought about the closures,

"Is it a struggle to see our lively hoods vanishing day by day, yes! Will, I let it get me down, absolutely not! I have had some of the best years of my life working for Toys R Us and have made memories and friends for a lifetime - Geoffrey will forever be missed by all!"
