Brasshouse held their first volunteer recruitment event 

Brass house gathers other organisations to help them get more volunteers. 

On the 7th of March, a charity organisation had a volunteer recruitment event to help organisations gain more volunteers.

North Smethwick Development (NSDT) based in Smethwick held an event at their centre Brasshouse to encourage people to volunteer at various organisation within the community.

This was the first event held at Brasshouse where other organisations came to promote their schemes available.

Martin McNallly, Volunteer Coordinator at Brushstrokes spoke about what he would like to get out of the event.

"I came here to recruit new volunteers for our project called Brushstrokes here in Smethwick.

“We are a local project and we are helping a lot of people all around the local area."

Brushstrokes is an organisation that specialise in employment, food parcels, work clubs and English classes.

Martin said “I would like volunteers to help project and the chance to network with other agencies that are here today.”

Over 10 organisations showed up to the event to recruit volunteers.

Debbie Jones, Volunteer Coordinator in Brasshouse said:

“I believe today was successful and hope to do something like this again.”
