'70 Years and Counting: The final opportunity?'

Returning Nazi-looted art to its original owners.

Today hundreds of experts from the across the globe will gather in London, where a conference is being held at the National Gallery, aiming to return art stolen during the Second World War.

More than 70 years after the end of the Second World War, families are still waiting for their precious heirlooms to be returned.

The conference aims to strengthen partnerships, build greater cooperation and examine how the process of returning stolen artworks can be accelerated.

The Government will extend the Holocaust Act indefinitely as part of their commitment to reunite artwork with its rightful owners, seventy years on from when it was seized.

John Glen, Arts Minister:
"Today's conference is an opportunity to share our collective knowledge, experience and expertise to ensure that countries
can work together to help right this historic wrong."
