St Davids Shopping Centre in Cardiff city centre is run by Land Securities who are committed to reducing the environmental impact of its entire Retail Portfolio.
They aim to divert more than 90% of waste collected from all of their retail outlets across the UK away from landfill. Tremendous progress has been made across the Group, with its shopping centre portfolio now diverting more than 98% of waste away from landfill.
In April 2012, St David's in Cardiff established an on-site Manual Recycling Facility (MRF), which has transformed the way the centre disposes its waste meaning St David’s now recycles 100% of its waste.
The centre's success won them the prestigious Green Apple National Green award in 2013 which demonstrates Land Securities’ commitment to responsible waste management.
