The National Fruit Show 2015

Supporting fruit growers year on year.

This year's National Fruit Show was another fantastic showcase of the great variety within the UK's fruit growing circles. With a range of exhibitors from across the fruit growing and processing industries, alongside some of the UK's finest fruit produce from this year, which had been entered into the Fruit Show competitions.

Fruit growers could find everything they could possibly need at this years show, from orchard management equipment, to processing and packaging equipment. We like to think that we added to this area by showing our innovative juicing and puree production line - which generated plenty of interest amongst the show's attendees!

The Core  stand at this year's National Fruit Show...

Our juicing and puree production line provides a solution for the fruit grower to process their fruit into fruit puree or juice - fruit in at one end, high quality juice or puree out at the other, as simple as that! A bit more information on the machines within our juice and puree line...

The KWEM 2000 washer elevator mill thoroughly cleans the fruit prior to processing with its integrated water bath and innovative 'Whirlpool Technology' for increased cleaning, ultimately leading to increased product quality. The elevator then carries cleaned fruit to the milling station, which uses technologically advanced serrated milling blades for enhanced fruit break up. Greater fruit cell break-up allows for increased juice yields when pommace is pressed using the belt press.

The KEB 500 belt press is very popular amongst cider and juice producers, pairing class leading processing capacities with flexibility and ease of use. Milled fruit mash is pressed between the belt and stainless steel rollers. The continuous pressing method provides high processing capacities of up to 850kg per hour, alongside juice yields above 70%. The belt press and washer elevator mill work in seamless conjunction with one another, providing an automated system. This means the line can be worked by just one person filling fruit at one end and removing pressed fruit mash at the other.

Our KEP 650 de-stoning and pureeing machine was also on show, an innovative and essential option for fruit growers who need to remove fruit stones from stoned fruit, or who want to turn apples and pears (and plenty more!) into fruit puree. The de-stoner uses rotating paddles and an internal sieve to press the fruit flesh away from fruit stones, seeds, pips and skins. Making a puree that can be pressed into juice or used in the production of jams and fruit sauces!

The BIG Apple...

We were really excited when the National Fruit Show asked for our support with a rather large apple, which was pretty tough to miss if you attended the show!

Located in the show reception area, the apple was an eye catcher to say the least! At over 2 metres high, the apple was a great photo spot for those attending the show. Although as it's made out of fibreglass, we don't think it would make juice quite as tasty as some of the apples in the show competition! We hope the apple makes a return next year, providing we find cold storage with enough space to keep it looking fresh for a whole year!

A big thanks to the National Fruit Show for putting on a great show again this year, and to all those who attended and came along to our stand to say hello. We're looking forward to next year's show already!
