The National Fruit Show 2016

Supporting fruit growers year on year.

The National Fruit Show is an event which we sponsor and attend every year.

There's nothing else quite like it, especially in the UK. It is amazing to see other people in the industry who enjoy their work as much as we do. From competitors for the most impressively sized fruit, to the farmer looking for new ideas, everyone is visiting the National Fruit Show to feed their interest and see what the unique fruit event holds each year.

Every year we meet plenty of interesting people; being a friendly company who loves what we do, we enjoy speaking to everyone, no matter what their query. This show is great for anyone looking to keep in touch with the latest news in the fruit industry, from growing to pressing to consumption.

The first day of the show was lively and busy. Despite the weather being beautiful and therefore perfect for harvest, the local fruit growers turned up, dedicated to visiting the National Fruit Show and seeing what the latest technology is to assist them in future crops.

We had enquiries from every area of the industry imaginable, from students looking to learn more about our equipment and what can be achieved with it, to professional growers based in the Kent region looking to minimise waste by using their leftover fruit to make purees, juices and jams.

As we have done every year since we first began to visit the show 6 years ago, we attended the charity dinner. Whilst waiting for everyone to arrive, a local sparkling wine from Chapeldown was served. It was lovely to see a show that we attended was helping to promote one of our very own vineyard clients!

Mark Lumsdon from Hadlow College opened the dinner with a speech and a farewell to Pat Crawford who is sadly retiring from the PR team of the College. It is lovely to see such a lovely community come together to support each other.

The show is always a little quieter on the second day than the first, but the awards ceremony which took place at 12pm was something for everyone to look forward to. Our congratulations go to every winner, though there are too many to list!

It was great to catch up with old friends and make some new ones, and we will look forward to seeing everyone at next year's show if we don’t see you before!
