Canada House in 2016

The Canadian High Commission by the numbers

2016 has been a busy year for us here at the Canadian High Commission to the UK. Here’s a glimpse of the year in numbers ...

Our consular office issued 16,233 Canadian passports
(38% more than last year)

We issued 596 temporary and emergency documents to Canadians whose passports were lost or stolen or had other urgent travel needs.

We processed 2100 Canadian citizenship applications
(a rise of 42% from 2015)

We hosted 15 webinars about immigration to Canada that saw close to 900 participants from over 20 countries taking part

We had two high commissioners. We said goodbye to Gordon Campbell and welcomed Janice Charette to the role.

Approximately 20,000 people attended an event at Canada House in 2016 - and we held an average of 57 events a month

12,888 people visited the Canada House art gallery

995 people took a guided tour of Canada House,
including 300 who came for
Open House London

Our staff helped raise £2726 for UK & Canadian charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support and the Royal Canadian Legion

We proudly flew three rainbow flags alongside Canadian flags to celebrate Canada's diversity during London Pride 2016

GOODBYE TO 2016! WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH ONE AND ALL A VERY  HAPPY NEW YEAR!
