Help kick-off the giving season and make a difference on the 29th November by joining us on #GivingTuesday. We are sharing pictures and quotes from children, and asking you to join their circle of trust!

Due to ongoing conflict in Syria, an estimated 2.8 million children are no longer in school, 2.1 inside Syria, 700,000 abroad. Meanwhile, the political situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) has prevented many schoolchildren from accessing quality education. In fact, 300 UN schools in the Middle East that serve Palestinians have been attacked or shut down in the past five years.

These powerful photos show children from conflict zones taking part in a circle of trust; a safe space to develop and gain an informal education despite the violence around them.

"The circle of trust is a place for us to express ourselves."

The impact of our work is significant - In positive environments, children want to learn new things! We use the power of music, sport & play as a way to promote ideals of peace, teamwork, and friendship.

"There's nothing to do where I live. The circle of trust gives me a place to play and be myself."

Music, sport & play gave an alternative to sedentary routines in the camp and boosted our students' confidence and motivation to be physically active.

"I love to play with the other kids in the circle of trust. I got to know them better."

Inclusion is key to our approach. Students now have a different and more meaningful way of interacting and building relationships with the people around them.

"I have noticed that everyone has really changed since joining the circle of trust. People are more energised."

Through participation, refugees can regain influence and control over their lives which, in turn, will have a positive impact on increasing their self-esteem and decreasing levels of aggression.

"In the circle of trust, we learn that anything boys can do, girls can do better"

We believe access to play-based learning creates a safe space for girls living through war and conflict. Music, sport & play provides a powerful tool that shapes young people to become leaders in their own communities.
