Bastille day in Paris !

14th July 2017 : my best pictures of this unique day

bonjour !

I am Alice, (24 soon) and I am very happy to come back with a new Shorthand Social ! Welcome to Paris.

Trips in 2017

Humbly, I consider myself as a very lucky girl cause I had the opportunity to make three big trips in the first 6 months of 2017 ! Italy (January), USA (March), and Germany-Austria (June). I am also a bit busy with my Parisian life, that's why I didn't take enough time to write more about my two last mind-blowing trips in March and June. I will definitely do it over the summer, I will let you know.

This time, I take you to my beloved city, Paris

I had the good fortune to visit various different cities in the world, I love to travel as much as I can, and want to discover more ! But for now, and as far as I know, there is no city like the city of lights. Originally from Normandy, I live in Paris since October 2016, and I love the vibrant life here.

I will show you the best pictures I took at the traditional Bastille Day Military Parade. Please feel free to contact me if you want to use them.

BASTILLE DAY MILITARY PARADE

Since 1880, France's National Day on 14 July, has stood as the symbol of French people unity as the armed forces march past the French Nation and their commander in chief, the president of the French Republic. The special parade brings together the French population and those who has chosen to serve their country and are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice. Their commitment to defending France and its values is honored. More info in English here.

"OPERATIONAL together, to achieve peace in advance"

Ensuring peace and being operational actually require the continuous preparation and utmost commitment of French forces. They are mobilized today on all fronts, since over 30 000 soldiers are deployed both in the homeland and beyond the borders. The Franco-American friendship and Operation Chammal took centre-stage, alongside the technological prowess of the French Armed Forces.

A HUNDRED YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE UNITED STATES ENTERED WORLD WAR I

2017 is the centenary year of America's entry into World War I, bringing its support to France. The American President attended this centenary and tribute was paid to the U.S. Armed Forces as a sign of this cooperation and the history of Franco-American friendship.
