LIN ELLIOTT - PLACEKICKER - FOOTBALL 1989-91

Elliott was named the All-Southwest Conference placekicker in 1991. He left Texas Tech in first all-time in field goals made in a season with 17. Also made 14 in 1990 for 9th all-time. That season he made 82.4 percent of his kicks (14 of 17) - the best in school history. He made 32 of 32 PATs in 1990. Elliott was instrumental in helping the Dallas Cowboys win Super Bowl XXVII.

RONNIE MATTSON - SHORTSTOP - BASEBALL 1973-76

Mattson was named Second Team All-American Shortstop in 1976 and All-Region VI Shortstop that same season. He was a two-time First Team All-Southwest Conference selection in 1975 and 1976 and finished second in the SWC batting race in 1976. He left Tech as the school's career leader in at-bats, runs scored, hits, total bases, doubles and triples.

DELROY POYSER - JUMPS/RELAYS - TRACK 1982-85

Poyser was a three-time All-American, finishing third in the nation in the indoor high jump in 1983 and indoor long jump in 1984. He still holds the indoor and outdoor school record in triple jump. Poyser was a gold medalist at the 1982 Central America & Caribbean Games in the long jump, representing Jamaica and a silver medalist in the high jump at the 1980 Under-20 Central America & Caribbean Games. He was also an Academic All-American.

   TATE RANDLE - SAFETY - FOOTBALL        1978-81

Randle was a two-time First Team All-Southwest Conference Safety and also an Honorable Mention All-American in 1980. He was third all-time in career interceptions and seventh all-time in single-season interceptions. Randle was picked in the eighth round of the NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers and spent seven seasons in the league. He also spent four seasons in the Arena Football League and was an all-league performer three times. Randle was inducted into the inaugural class of the Arena Football League Hall of Fame in 1998.

        VIC SPOONER - END - FOOTBALL              1952-53

Spooner was an All-Border Conference end for the 11-1 Red Raider team that beat Auburn in the 1954 Gator Bowl. He was the Co-captain of the team as a senior and was also invited to play in the annual Blue-Gray Game. Spooner also lettered in baseball for the 1954 Red Raider baseball team, which was the first baseball team since the early days of Texas Tech.

          KEN MURRAY - ATHLETIC TRAINER         1978-2011

Murray has been fixture in the profession of Athletic Training for more than 40 years. He began as an assistant Athletic Trainer for the Atlanta Falcons before heading to Eastern Kentucky as the Head Athletic Trainer where he developed the first Athletic Training curriculum recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association. In 1978, he moved to become the Head Athletic Trainer for Texas Tech where he served four football coaches and became the senior athletic trainer until his retirement in 2011.
